JULIAN ALLEN
Hi, Iβm Julian Allen, Head Coach at XLR8 Bike School.
Bikes are fun β my mission in life is to bring that pleasure to as many people as possible.
Cycling has been a major part of my life since birth. My Dad was a racer and as a young boy, thatβs all I wanted to do.
I first tried BMX racing in March 1984 at Braintree BMX Club. Since then I have been British BMX Champion, 4X National Championship silver medalist and competed at multiple British, European and World Championships across both disciplines and three decades.

My coaching journey began as I wanted to give back to the sport and help new riders develop a passion for cycling.
Along the pathway I have specialised in my two main cycling disciplines of BMX and mountain biking, as well as developing my business model to incorporate everything from learning to ride to becoming a world champion. This was a natural progresssion giving my love for the sport.
Outside of cycle sport, I work with many schools and community groups to provide cycling opportunities to riders of all ages and abilities. My after school clubs have uncovered many talented athletes who have gone on to have successful cycling careers.
